Warmia and Mazury is a region located in the North-Eastern Poland. It is famous for its forests and lakes. It is one of the favorite regions for summer leisure. Big forest complexes with almost endless ground routes offer possibility for biking in one of the least polluted environment. The entrance to forests is free in Poland and you only need to remember some rules how to behave in the woods. Lakes offer possibility for angling, sailing and bathing. 120 km East from Olsztyn, in the Mikołajki and Giżycko, there is one of the biggest lake complexes in Europe offering extraordinary opportunities for sailing and motor-boating. One of the biggest attractions of Warmia and Mazury is so called Ostroda-Elblag canal which connects Ostroda with the Baltic see. It is more than 100 km long and is famous for many floodgates. The unique feature of the Ostroda-Elblag canal are railways connecting neighboring lakes on which the ships are carried with passengers on a kind of railway lorries.
